Gainward Working on Several New GeForce 8800GT Cooler Designs

While the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT performs very well in games and applications, its stock single-slot cooler isn't as great as the other 8800 series coolers. At first, Gigabyte attempted on creating their own cooler for the 8800GT and now Gainward is also finishing up on its new 8800GT designs. As seen in the pictures below, Gainward has unveiled two designs and will most likely market both with overclocked boards.

As Doughnut would say, that card is light red.

Not the best looking in my book, but hey, some people don't have case windows for a reason.

It's not as if you were going to be looking at it inside your case anyway.

I like a company that uses a custom cooler rather using the same one as every one else is using.

God for sake. The first manufacturer which noticed that a reference design isn't always a good solution.
Bet Gainward this time is clever enough to not waiting until customers descide to buy the cheapest GT in combination with a working 3rd party 2-slot cooler.

Agreed, I still have a Ti4200 Golden Sample somewhere that totally kicked ass. And when it died, Gainward replaced it for free. Even paid shipping IIRC.

Things we need for the 8800 GT:

-Volt Mod
-More RAM

Things we don't need:

-Slightly less crappy stock coolers

Learn the consumer's needs!

Im glad to see companies taking the initiative on cooling. Typically, stock coolers are the worst.

And why did Nvidia bother promoting this as a one slot card?
It's the same size as the GTS, and comes with a shit cooler.

I wonder how many companies are going to try and stick with the 'one slot' approach and produce slightly less crappy stock coolers, as Weer mentioned.

The more I see the 8800GT in the news, the more I want one. I'm trying desperately to wait to see what RV670 brings to the table.
