OCZ 8800GTX will launch by tomorrow

We reported on December 7th that OCZ was planning on entering the graphics card business. OCZ is expected to announce their 8800GTX either today or tomorrow, and Newegg will have a limited stock of the card available for immediate availability once the card is released. The card will come at NVIDIA default clocks, 575MHz core and 1800MHz memory, but OCZ encourages customers to overclock their cards (part number OCZ8800GTX).

XFX Releases 8800 XXX Edition Video Cards

XFX has released the first-ever overclocked versions of the powerful new GeForce 8800-series video cards. The XFX 8800 GeForce XXX Series is the first of its kind to be factory overclocked. Two XXX edition video cards have been released simultaneously. The 8800 GTX XXX Edition, overclocked from the standard 575MHz/1.8GHz to 630MHz core and 2.0 GHz memory clock speeds, and the 8800 GTS XXX Edition dialed up from a standard 500MHz/1.6GHz to 550MHz core/1.8GHz memory clock speeds. Both cards are preflashed with new custom bios, and are 100% tested with 3Dmark06.

G80 driver for Windows Vista expected to arrive in mid December.

The Inquirer learned that NVIDIA plans to release the G80 driver for Windows Vista, DirectX10 enabled and fully functional, in mid December. NVIDIA is not giving away "review samples" of the driver, but internal sources say that the driver is very nice and works quite well. NVIDIA hasn't released a public Vista driver yet because the mainstream version of Vista is not due for release until January 30th, and NVIDIA wants time to work all the bugs out.
