Lenovo Announces New Legion Gaming Laptops & Accessories

Today, Lenovo Legion introduces its new battle-ready lineup that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to auto-enable seamless gaming. Customers can count on integrated machine learning to elevate gameplay settings and framerates to pro levels. No matter where you're at on your gaming journey, from wherever you call home—you'll love the savage performance and minimalist style of the new Lenovo Legion 7 laptop with immersive 16-inch display, the 16-inch Lenovo Legion 5 Pro, the 15-inch Lenovo Legion Slim 7, and the Lenovo Legion 5 available in two screen sizes.

In 2021, Lenovo Legion brings consumers even more savage gaming performance with innovations in hardware and software. These new Lenovo Legion laptops are expertly-crafted with intelligent Lenovo Legion Coldfront 3.0 thermals for an increased airflow of up to 18 percent gen-to-gen to better manage the heat and noise generated by all that raw processing power. Lower system temperatures allow for optimized performance and all-day mobility with a long-lasting battery life. Multiple sensors are placed on the CPU, GPU, rear and side thermal vents, as well as on the SSD memory card and palm rest to fire off information every nanosecond to predict your system's thermal curve for hours of gaming with zero throttling. To further dissipate heat, we've expanded the copper heat sink system for up to 82 percent more thermal fin area gen-to-gen and drilled copious holes into the laptop's bottom cover and even under the keyboard to keep things cooler. So put this new Lenovo Legion's gaming hardware through its paces, it's built to take it.

Ubisoft Updates Watch Dogs: Legion PC System Requirements

Ubisoft has today updated the PC system requirements for its Watch Dogs: Legion game. Set to release on October 29th this year, we are just a few weeks away from its release. With the arrival of NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3000 series Ampere graphics cards, Ubisoft has decided to update the official PC system requirements with RTX-on capabilities. The inclusion of raytracing in the game requires a faster CPU, as well as an RTX-capable GPU. At 1080p resolution, you need at least an RTX 2060 GPU to play with high settings, and raytracing turned to the medium, including DLSS. Going up to 1440p, Ubisoft recommends gamers to use at least an RTX 3070 GPU for very high preset, raytracing on high, and DLSS set to quality. If you want to max everything out and play with the highest settings at 4K resolution, you will need an RTX 3080 GPU.

Lenovo Lists "GeForce RTX 3070 Ti" with 16GB GDDR6 Memory

Lenovo has allegedly listed an unreleased NVIDIA GeForce "Ampere" graphics card as an option for its Legion T7 gaming desktop. The specs sheet speaks of a "GeForce RTX 3070 Ti" with "16 GB of GDDR6" memory, in what may be the first of many future product stack refreshes NVIDIA has planned. No other specs of the RTX 3070 Ti have been mentioned, but the doubling in memory size foreshadows a similar treatment for the RTX 3080. Currently, the RTX 3080 is being released with 10 GB of GDDR6X. The flagship RTX 3090 has 24 GB of it. There is a vast gorge in the new product stack, between the $700 RTX 3080 10 GB, and the $1,500 RTX 3090 24 GB, which is ripe for a possible "RTX 3080 Ti" with 20 GB of memory, among other features.
