ROCCAT Kone Pure Optical Mouse and Sense Meteor Blue Mousepad Now Available

ROCCAT Studios, the Hamburg-based manufacturer of competition gaming peripherals, today announces immediate availability of the optical version of its award-winning Kone Pure gaming mouse. This release ensures that there is now a Kone for both breeds of gamer: those preferring the maxed out DPI of a laser mouse, and those yearning for the unique feel of an optical sensor gliding over their mousepad.

The Kone Pure Optical combines the design innovations and ergonomic shape of original Kone Pure - 91% the size of the Kone - with an ultra-accurate, cutting-edge Pro-Optic (R3) optical sensor. Equipped with high-quality Omron switches, ROCCAT innovations such as Easy-Shift[+], Easy-Aim, and ROCCAT Talk, and a top-end sensor with DPI adjustable up to true 4,000 DPI, the Kone Pure Optical is designed for discerning gamers who want the best from their peripherals.

ASUS Rolls Out ROG Eagle Eye GX1000 Gaming Mouse

ASUS rolled out its first Republic of Gamers (ROG) branded input device, the ROG Eagle Eye GX1000 gaming mouse. Clad in brushed aluminum and ABS plastic, with a braided weave cable, the Eagle Eye GX1000 features a pseudo-ambidextrous design (side buttons only on its left side), with a total of six action buttons, a scroll wheel, and on-the-fly sensitivity control buttons.

The ROG Eagle Eye GX1000 features a weight compartment, with adjustable weighs in units of 5 g. Its dry weight (without any weights) is 150 g. Under its hood is an 8,200 DPI laser sensor, which can be lowered all the way down to 50 DPI. Overall, the mouse measures 128.5 x 65.5 x 43.5 mm. ASUS dropped in some groovy LED lighting for the scroll wheel, the sensitivity adjustment felt-touch surface (can coarsely display DPI setting), and its rear side. An ROG-branded mousepad is part of the package. Expect this one to be priced upwards of $100.

GIGABYTE Outs Its GeForce GTX Titan Graphics Card

Gigabyte announced its GeForce GTX Titan graphics card. Much like every other GTX Titan announced till now, it sticks to NVIDIA reference design. To spice things up, Gigabyte is tossing in a few extras from its Aivia line of gaming peripherals, by including a gaming mousepad, and a pack of Aivia-themed playing cards that you can also play "memory" with. Based on the 28 nm GK110 silicon, the GeForce GTX Titan features 2,688 CUDA cores, 224 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 6 GB of memory. The card features NVIDIA reference clock speeds of 837/876/6008 MHz (core/GPU Boost/memory). It should be priced at $1000 before taxes, $1100~$1200 after it.

Zalman Announces a Fleet of New Gaming Mice, Mousepads

Korean peripherals maker Zalman rolled out a fleet of new gaming mice and mousepads. Among the mice are the ZM-GM1 flagship mouse, ZM-M400, and the ambidextrous claw-grip oriented ZM-M250; and among the mousepads are the ZM-MP series. The ZM-GM1 is an ambidextrous-looking (yet right-oriented mouse for palm-grips. Measuring 125 x 84 x 38 mm, its dry weight is about 85 g. Featuring a silver+black body with steel highlights, the mouse provides five buttons, excluding on-the-fly resolution adjustments. Under the hood is an Avago 9500 optical sensor, with 6,000 dpi resolution, and 12,000 FPS reporting rate. In addition to an illuminated logo and parts surrounding its scrollwheel, the mouse lights up along the contours of its thumb-rest.

Moving on, the the ZM-M400 features a right-oriented design unlike the ZM-GM1, measuring 112 x 82 x 40 mm and a fixed 129 g weight, but its looks could be deceptive by today's standards. It packs a light 1,600 dpi sensor, which doesn't get close to anything Avago. The last of the three mice is the ZM-M250, which features a glossy, ambidextrous shape, a total of three buttons, measurements of 119 x 64 x 34 mm, weighing 81 g, the same 1,600 dpi sensor as the ZM-M400. Its top features a groovy circuit board pattern.

ROCCAT Debuts Raivo High-Velocity Gaming Mousepad

ROCCAT Studios, the Hamburg-based manufacturer of competition gaming peripherals, announces the availability of the Raivo High-Velocity Gaming Mousepad. Based on the design of the highly acclaimed Sota Mousepad, Raivo integrates a new flex-support structure and revised surface design to enhance stability and precision.

Sharkoon Announces A Trio of Gaming Mousepads

Sharkoon introduces three new gaming mouse pads, each for different applications. The stable Sharkoon 1337 Tough Gaming Mouse Pad, with its finely textured hard plastic surface, is especially designed for Teflon skates, providing maximum acceleration and precision movements. The underneath "rubber base" creates a non-slip grip even in the most action packed game situations. The natural rubber attaches itself firmly to any surface and also compensates for minor irregularities. With edge lengths of 355 x 255 mm and a low height of 3 mm, the pad provides ample action gaming space and convenience. "Tough" not only refers to the material, but also the design: The black background sports a yellow "Danger Shark Zone" warning logo. The mouse pad weighs 220 g.

S.Q.A.T explained

The Surface Quality Analyser Tool is built into the Mionix NAOS 5000 gaming mouse and measures the data loss between images of the surface taken by the mouse sensor. This information is translated in to a rating between 1 and 10, where a low number represents a higher data loss and a higher number represents a lower data loss between the surface and the mouse sensor. Mousepads rated 8/10 or above will provide no loss of tracking* and improved accuracy.

Roccat Announces Sense Chrome Blue Edition Gaming Mousepad

EVGA Rolls Out Pwnage 2 Mousepad

EVGA made an addition to its small lineup of gaming-grade Pwnage family of mousepads, with the Pwnage 2 (part number: E00B-00-000032). Not much different from the original Pwnage mousepad (E00B-00-000007), it launched with two other designs in June 2011, the Pwnage 2 features a slightly different surface graphic. Designed for laser and optical mice, the Pwnage 2 is designed with a low-friction surface for smooth glides, although EVGA didn't specify if it's specialized for speed or control. Its base is made of non-slip rubber. Its surface measures 13.75" x 10.25" (34.92 x 26 cm). At US $14.99 a pop, it's even priced the same as the original Pwnage.
