CORSAIR Adds 3rd Screw to Hydro X GPU Blocks, Introduces More White Components

We first noticed a silent update to CORSAIR's Hydro X GPU blocks with the upcoming RTX 30-series block, with a third screw and a new I/O terminal added to reflect the design of their Dominator Platinum RGB memory sticks. The third screw is no doubt to help quench any concerns over potential leaks of coolant with the older design, which a few people noted was a possibility when under duress, as opposed to a typical use case necessarily. As it turns out, dealing with any bad PR was worth even retroactively making the change with the older RTX 20-series block too, which we now see on their website and is pictured below.

In addition, the company has been adding white color options of their more popular components for people to use as a change from the typical black. Following the Hydro X theme here, we see the company is now selling white Hydro XR5 radiators with a matte white polyurethane coating over the Hardware Labs Black Ice Nemesis LS radiators they are based off. The larger XR7 radiators will not get the same treatment unfortunately, given they are not as popular clearly as the thinner XR5, although you can now also get both pump/reservoir units in white too. Their cooling configurator has been updated with the white parts as well.

Aqua Computer Introduces Pump Adapter ULTITOP D5 MIRROR BLACK

Aqua Computer, known as a German manufacturer for water cooling systems, introduces a new pump housing for D5 pumps. The ULTITOP D5 MIRROR BLACK is a D5 pump top made from 1.5 kg solid brass. After CNC machining, the weight is still about half a kilogram and, thanks to this mass, aims to perfectly dampen the vibrations of the pump.

For a special appearance Aqua Computer polishes the surface by hand and applies a new coating: MIRROR BLACK. This coating creates ever-changing colours on a dark surface, depending on the incoming light and angle of view. The pump top is supplied with a decoupling from Aqua Computer specially designed for the D5 pump.

Aqua Computer Introduces ULTITOP D5 DUAL Pump Top

Aqua Computer, the German specialist for water cooling systems, today presents a new dual pump top for D5 pumps. The ULTITOP D5 DUAL has been optimized for lowest possible running noise and compact design. Aqua Computer has extensively simulated and optimized the geometry of the pump housing.

The pump can be easily installed in almost any installation situation thanks to two mounting options offset by 90°. A bracket available as an accessory also allows mounting on 120 and 140 mm fan holes. The supplied specially adapted decoupler made of very soft silicone dampers ensures that almost no vibrations are transmitted to the case. Aqua Computer manufactures the ULTITOP D5 DUAL in Germany in its own CNC facility. The main housing is made of acetal, the threads are G1/4". It is available as of now with a price tag of 79,90 Euro (~ 95 USD), additionally a kit with two D5 NEXT pumps is offered for 289,00 Euro (~ 340 USD).

In Win Intros SR24 AIO CPU Cooler with Twin Turbine Pump

In Win today rolled out the SR24, an all-in-one liquid CPU cooler featuring a patented "twin turbine pump" feature. These are basically two pump turbines attached on both ends of the DC motor's shaft, which in turn are located on either ends of the CPU block. One of the turbine pushes coolant into the block, while the other pulls heated coolant from it. In Win claims that even if one of the two fails over time, the other will provide sufficient coolant pressure to cool your CPU, while a warning LED lights up. With both turbines operational, the SR24 offers double the coolant pressure, and a markedly superior P-Q curve. The pump block is capped off with an RGB illuminated In Win logo.

The innovative pump-block of the In Win SR24 is tubed to a 240 mm x 120 mm aluminium radiator. Ventilating it are a pair of included In Win Jupiter 120 mm fans that each spin at speeds of 500 to 2,500 RPM, with up to 101.5 CFM of air-flow, and as low as 23 dBA of noise output. The fans feature double ball bearings and feature addressable RGB LEDs in their hubs. A single 3-pin ARGB connection handles lighting for the two fans and the pump-block. The company didn't mention thermal load numbers, but among the CPU socket types supported are TR4, sTRX4, LGA2066, AM4, and LGA115x. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Touring the EKWB Suite at CES 2019

TechPowerUp met over 50 brands at CES this year, more than anyone else we know of, and thus our coverage of the trade show continues on. EK Water Blocks (EKWB) had a grand showing at Computex last year, with a room full of updates and new products. Some of these showed up in a different form at CES, and others presumably are still being developed. As it turned out, EK had another room full of products this time too, including some products that we were not expecting necessarily.

Beginning our tour was a demo of the Quantum Distro PC 305 system, an EK-assembled system sold at Microcenter stores in the USA. As the name suggests, this uses an InWin 305 case and the current setup has an Intel Core i9-9900K on an ASUS ROG Maximus XI Hero combined with an NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti. These systems are not budget friendly, but if you wanted to get an EK-distribution plate then this is currently the only way to do so. Next to these was the EK-Connect, which appears to be the final version of the long awaited fan controller project they had teased years back. The EK-Connect, as 2019 demands it, is a combination LED and fan controller, and will be supported by a software driver when ready. At the trade show, the setup just showed multiple different LED strips and fans connected, and it appears to be powered by an in-set SATA connector for power. Read past the break for more!

Alphacool Shows Off All New Eisball Pump/Reservoir Combo

Alphacool showed off an entirely new pump/reservoir combo at CES 2019, which they dubbed the Eisball. Just a quick look at this thing will tell you it is like nothing else you have seen before. Paired with their VP755 V3 pump which was recently updated, means not only is it entirely new from the ground up, it also has a truly unique appearance. Of course no product is complete without RGB LEDs, and the Eisball is no exception with the metal ring located on the outside hiding them from prying eyes while delivering bright illumination that will have no problems being visible in any case with a window.

All cabling for the LEDs and pump are thankfully sleeved in black which which is nice since no one likes mustard and ketchup cabling. There are four ports located on the unit two of which are on the front bottom and are clearly marked inlet and outlet, while another port is located on the opposite side. The last port is in the obvious location which is up top. In general, the Eisball is a unique pump/reservoir combo that will likely garner more than a few looks at CES this year. That said, all I can see when I look at it is R2D2 maybe I am just crazy? Let me know in the comments.

CORSAIR Hydro X Custom Watercooling Lineup (Mostly) Revealed

Why is it that each time something leaks from CORSAIR, it is from one of their resellers? This time, it was France-based LDLC who decided to show off an entire system filled with parts from CORSAIR's upcoming Hydro X business unit at Paris Games Week recently. This is our first look at CORSAIR's entry to custom watercooling, which was teased a couple of months ago, and looks like the inevitable launch will be sooner rather than later.

This entire venture started off with drama of its own, involving key personnel jumping ship from EK Waterblocks to CORSAIR about a year ago, and many were curious as to what this meant in terms of new options to the market. We will go through the photos one by one to identify and comment on all the parts, so be sure to click the full story as we dig deeper into the individual parts.

Lian Li Partners with Bitspower on Custom Reservoir/Pump for PC-O11 Dynamic Case

The Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic is proving to be a success for the company, with praise from reviews and customers alike. The platform has since brought out a few variations as well, but for those wanting to build in the case this holiday season and make use of the watercooling support it allows, the Sedna O11D might be of interest to you. Borne out of a collaboration between Lian Li and Bitspower, this is a custom reservoir and pump combination unit that fits in like a manifold and is slim to allow for excellent compatibility for also CPU and GPU blocks in the case without compromising on space for the rest of the custom loop.

The Sedna O11D is effectively a retail product designed like a one-off mod from talented PC modders around the world, and will allow users to have something different than the norm. It comes with what appears to be a Laing DDC pump integrated at the bottom, and also has a built-in pressure relief valve at the top to aid in air bleeding as well as a drain valve at the bottom. There is no word on pricing yet, although the product is up for purchase from Bitspower directly in which case you need to contact their sales channel via Skype. Note that this is not necessarily the first of its kind as a retail product, with other, arguably smaller, Asian brands offering similar custom reservoirs before. This is the first time a global brand has directly worked with the case maker to make such a specific product, to the best of my knowledge, and hopefully it leads to more such joint efforts.
