NVIDIA Reportedly Moves NDA Date for RTX Reviews to September 19th

Videocardz is reporting that NVIDIA has moved their NDA dates for reviews on their RTX 2080 graphics cards to be published. They cite difficulties for review websites in securing samples, delays in shipment, and even unavailable driver stacks that would allow for reviewers to conduct their jobs with the usual professionalism. Remember that the original NDA timeframe for reviews, as reported by Videocardz, was set at September 17th, which would leave reviewers from today with less than a full week to conduct their testing.

The website reports that "only a handful" of reviewers have gotten their cards already, and that reviews for NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 2080 have now lined up with the NDA set for the RTX 2080 Ti, on September 19th, leaving reviewers with two huge card launches and a single deadline, just before the cards' general availability on September 20th.

EK Releasing EK-Vector RTX 2000 Series Water Blocks

EK Water Blocks, the Slovenia based water cooling gear manufacturer, is introducing its new generation of high-performance water blocks for the newly announced NVIDIA GeForce RTX series graphics cards, based on Turing TU104 and Turing TU102 graphics processor. The inspiration for the new GPU block name "Vector" came from the sheer computing power of the graphics cards that are on the market today. Naming a water block "Full Cover" isn't enough these days, when the product is packed with unique features, such as these.

The EK Vector RTX water block is specially designed for multiple NVIDIA GeForce RTX Turing based reference design graphics cards. The water block itself uses the signature EK single slot slim look, and it covers the entire PCB length. This sophisticated cooling solution will transform your beefy graphics card into a minimalist, elegant piece of a hardware. The block also features a unique aesthetic cover over the block Terminal which is designed to reveal the graphics card model, visible from the side.

For now, there seem to be no blower-style coolers available - both cards carry dual-fan cooling solutions, much like NVIDIA's redesigned reference graphics cards. Both cards feature a twin 90 mm fan design with RGB lighting on their 11 fan blades, built with a three-phase, 6-slot design. The cooling solution is a two-slot one, with implemented vapor chamber technology, and KFA2 is touting its new "Xrystallic" design which adds a transparent, glossy material surface to the shroud.

First Time Spy Benchmark of Upcoming NVIDIA RTX 2080 Graphics Card Leaks

A Time Spy benchmark score of one of NVIDIA's upcoming RTX 20-series graphics cards has come out swinging in a new leak. We say "one of NVIDIA's" because we can't say for sure which core configuration this graphics card worked on: the only effective specs we have are the 8 GB of GDDR6 memory working at 14 Gbps, which translates to either NVIDIA's RTX 2070 or RTX 2080 graphics cards. If we were of the betting type, we'd say these scores are likely from an NVIDIA RTX 2080, simply because the performance improvement over the last generation 1080 (which usually scores around the 7,300's) sits pretty at some 36% - more or less what NVIDIA has been doing with their new generation introductions.

The 10,030 points scored in Time Spy by this NVIDIA RTX graphics card brings its performance levels up to GTX 1080 Ti levels, and within spitting distance of the behemoth Titan Xp. This should put to rest questions regarding improved performance in typical (read, non-raytracing) workloads on NVIDIA's upcoming RTX series. It remains to be seen, as it comes to die size, which part of this improvement stems from actual rasterization performance improvements per core, or if this comes only from increased number of execution units (NVIDIA says it doesn't, by the way).

PNY Reveals Their RTX 20-Series Lineup of Partner Graphics Cards

PNY has taken the lid of their RTX graphics card lineup, revealing a total of 9 (at least, for now) models that will be sold under the new graphics card lineup. For now, PNY's store only offers purchase options for the RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 graphics cards, with the RTX 2070 only featuring product pages, but no pricing information.

PNY's product differentiation stands, as always, with factory overclocking and the cooling solution employed. There are two RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards - the RTX 2080 Ti 11GB Blower, which caters to the audiences that NVIDIA has left behind with their in-house designs (which now all feature a dual-fan cooling system), and the RTX 2080 Ti 11GB XLR8 Gaming Overclocked Edition ($1,299) with a triple-fan, LED-infused design. For now, there's no information on finalized clock speeds, and both cards feature NVIDIA's reference 1525 MHz core clocks on their specs listing.

NVIDIA Releases First Internal Performance Benchmarks for RTX 2080 Graphics Card

NVIDIA today released their first official performance numbers for their new generation of GeForce products - particularly, the RTX 2080. The RTX 20 series of graphics cards, according to the company, offers some 50% performance improvements (on average) on architectural improvements alone, in a per-core basis. This number is then built upon with the added RTX performance of the new RT cores, which allows the RTX 2080 to increase its performance advantage over the last generation 1080 by up to 2x more - while using the new DLSS technology. PUBG, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and Final Fantasy XV are seeing around 75 percent or more improved performance when using this tech.

NVIDIA is also touting the newfound ability to run games at 4K resolutions at over 60 FPS performance, making the RTX 2080 the card to get if that's your preferred resolution (especially if paired with one of those dazzling OLED TVs...) Of course, IQ settings aren't revealed in the slides, so there's an important piece of the puzzle still missing. But considering performance claims of NVIDIA, and comparing the achievable performance on last generation hardware, it's fair to say that these FPS scores refer to the high or highest IQ settings for each game.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX Series Prices Up To 71% Higher Than Previous Gen

NVIDIA revealed the SEP prices of its GeForce RTX 20-series, and it's a bloodbath in the absence of competition from AMD. The SEP price is the lowest price you'll be able to find a custom-design card at. NVIDIA is pricing its reference design cards, dubbed "Founders Edition," at a premium of 10-15 percent. These cards don't just have a better (looking) cooler, but also slightly higher clock speeds.

The GeForce RTX 2070 is where the lineup begins, for now. This card has an SEP pricing of USD $499. Its Founders Edition variant is priced at $599, or a staggering 20% premium. You'll recall that the previous-generation GTX 1070 launched at $379, with its Founders Edition at $449. The GeForce RTX 2080, which is the posterboy of this series, starts at $699, with its Founders Edition card at $799. The GTX 1080 launched at $599, with $699 for the Founders Edition. Leading the pack is the RTX 2080 Ti, launched at $999, with its Founders Edition variant at $1,199. The GTX 1080 Ti launched at $699, for the Founders Edition no less.

NVIDIA RTX 20-series Founders Edition Cards are Dual-Fan Across the Board

Find specifications of the GeForce RTX 20-series graphics card in our older posts. Turns out, that dual-fan reference coolers are finally here, with NVIDIA implementing it across its GeForce RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition reference boards. Each fan is a 13-blade affair, and the newly-redesigned cooling system allows the RTX 2080, for example, to work at one fifth the noise levels of previous-gen GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, 2070, and 2080 Ti Specifications Revealed

(Update 1: NVIDIA at its Koln event also revealed that these graphics cards were made for overclocking, with highly-improved power regulation and management systems designed just for that purpose. Jensen Huang himself added that these new graphics cards, with their dual 13-blade radial fan design, work at one fifth the audio levels of a previous-gen GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

With product pages and pricing of the GeForce RTX 2080, RTX 2070, and the RTX 2080 Ti going up ahead of formal unveiling. The RTX 2080 leads the pack with 2944 CUDA cores, 1515 MHz GPU clocks, 1710 MHz boost, and 14 Gbps memory; while the RTX 2070 is equipped with 2304 CUDA cores, 1410 MHz GPU clocks, 1620 MHz boost, and an unchanged 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory. The RTX 2080 is priced at USD $799.99, followed by the RTX 2080 Ti at $1,299 and the RTX 2070 at $599. All three new graphics cards will begin shipping on the 20th of September, 2018.

GALAX Confirms Specs of RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti

GALAX spilled the beans on the specifications of two of NVIDIA's upcoming high-end graphics cards, as it's becoming increasingly clear that the company could launch the GeForce RTX 2080 and the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti simultaneously, to convince GeForce "Pascal" users to upgrade. The company's strategy appears to be to establish 40-100% performance gains over the previous generation, along with a handful killer features (such as RTX, VirtuaLink, etc.,) to trigger the upgrade-itch.

Leaked slides from GALAX confirm that the RTX 2080 will be based on the TU104-400 ASIC, while the RTX 2080 Ti is based on the TU102-300. The RTX 2080 will be endowed with 2,944 CUDA cores, and a 256-bit wide GDDR6 memory interface, holding 8 GB of memory; while the RTX 2080 Ti packs 4,352 CUDA cores, and a 352-bit GDDR6 memory bus, with 11 GB of memory. The memory clock on both is constant, at 14 Gbps. The RTX 2080 has its TDP rated at 215W, and draws power from a combination of 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connectors; while the RTX 2080 Ti pulls 250W TDP, drawing power through a pair of 8-pin PCIe power connectors. You also get to spy GALAX' triple-fan non-reference cooling solution in the slides below.

EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 XC Ultra Pictured

The XC Ultra, a new brand extension by EVGA, could be its flagship graphics card based on the GeForce RTX 2080. Pictured below, this monstrosity is characterized by a 2-slot thick new cooling solution that uses two aluminium fin-stacks, which draw heat from the GPU over five nickel-plated copper heat pipes; ventilated by a pair of 100 mm fans. The cooler shroud is clear acrylic, and unless we're mistaken, the fan intakes are framed by four RGB LED diffusers that put up a light show.
