Verbatim Launches A New Secure 'n' Go USB Drive, Introduces Special Security Features

Verbatim is launching a new Secure 'n' Go USB Drive addressing private users' needs of keeping data safe when carrying it around with them. The Secure 'n' Go Secure Data USB Drive offers a powerful 256bit-AES hardware-encryption and mandatory password with storage capacities of 4GB, 8GB and 16GB and will be available in stores in June and will cost 29 Euro, 58 Euro and 99 Euro respectively (RRP).

No-one likes the thought of storing or archiving sensitive data that can be accessed by unapproved people. This can be true for many files, from private images, financial data, lists of names and addresses - basically, anything that would be considered private or confidential. With its new Secure 'n' Go USB Drive, Verbatim is addressing the increasing need of private users for total control of their portable data.

Verbatim Intros Gran Turismo Portable Hard Drive

Verbatim today announced a pair of Gran Turismo (GT) themed portable hard drives. Measuring 78 (W) x 118 (L) x 16 (H) mm, and weighing a little over 150 g, Verbatim's GT drives can carry 500 GB of data. The drives come in swanky red or black colors with the stripes characterizing GT. On the other hand they USB 2.0 for connectivity and power, and feature a "green button" that reduces power draw by sending the drive into a standby mode. The Verbatim GT is accompanied by Nero BackItUp, and Nero Burn Essentials. It is priced at 88.50 EUR.

Verbatim Intros Latest Generation of Store 'n' Go Portable Hard Drives

Verbatim released its newest generation of Store 'n' Go portable hard drives. The new drives are lighter, and with higher capacities. The hard drives inside the shell are of the 2.5" form-factor. The main unit measures 81 (W) x 117 (L) x 16 (H) mm, and weighs 135 g. The drives back an energy saving feature that's activated at the press of a "Green Button".

The new range of Store 'n' Go comes in capacities of 250 GB, 320 GB, 500 GB, 640 GB, 750 GB and 1 TB. They [still] rely on USB 2.0 as the connectivity standard. Bundled with each drive are copies of Nero BackItUp Essentials and Burn and Nero Rescue software. In the above order of capacity, the drives are priced at 59, 69, 79, 89, 99 and 189 Euro, respectively, and are avilable in a wide range of shell color options.

Verbatim Announces New eSATA/USB 2.0 Combo 500 GB Portable Hard Drive

One device, two integrated interfaces: with the new Combo Portable Hard Drive, Verbatim is combining the advantages of a Powered eSATA high-speed connection with the user-friendliness of a USB drive. The truly Portable Hard Drive comes in a rugged aluminium enclosure weighing only 205 grams and delivers ultra fast eSATA data transfer speeds up to 3Gbit/sec. The new Verbatim eSATA/USB 2.0 Combo HDD 500GB is available from specialist retailers now and costs £89.99 (RRP).

Verbatim's new portable hard drive delivers ultra fast data transfer on the go. With USB 2.0 and powered eSATA connectivity it is extremely versatile. Data can be transferred via the powered eSATA port at a maximum speed of 3Gbit/sec, providing the other device also features eSATA connectivity. In terms of data transfer, the powered eSATA port is six times faster than USB 2.0.

Verbatim Intros Range of Micro USB Drives

Verbatim is unveiling its second generation of Micro USB drives in a range of vibrant colours and capacities. The tiny drives, which are only 3 cm long and no thicker than a Euro coin, can store up to 32 GB of data, and are available in stores now.

The Micro USB drives are manufactured using System-in-Package (SiP) technology which integrates the electronic components into a robust, sealed casing, ensuring that the drives are resistant to dust, water and static discharges, making them one of the smallest and most reliable USB drives available on the market today.

We posted their press release here, but have now managed to get a few more infos for you. The unit will only ship in silver, comes with a 3.5" SATA hard drive and sports multiple USB connectors in the back along with a network jack. It has the same foot print as an AppleTV, but is slightly taller, while the casing seems to be made of aluminum. Besides that, we snapped an image of an external hard drive with an LCD screen. While this may not be anything out of the ordinary, the technology used in the display allows it to function just like eInk. It does not require any power to change the state of the screen, so that you will always know how much free space is available, even when it is not connected.

Verbatim Announces Pocket Drive

Verbatim launch the Pocket Drive, a stylish black 250GB portable 1.8" Hard Disk Drive which is small enough to slip easily into a trouser or jacket pocket but, has the storage capacity to empower mobile users to download memory intensive multi-media content whilst on the move. The Pocket Drive will soon be available in retail, priced £99.99(RRP).

The Pocket Drive, despite being about the size of a pack of playing cards, benefits users not only with its storage capabilities but, also offers pre- installed backup and synchronisation software. The Dmailer backup software with data encryption can be used to enable secure backups whilst the Verbatim Sync software allows data between PC and external drive to be synchronised with ease. The Sync software works with all file types and provides synchronisation of mail boxes and web site details, such as browser favourites.

Verbatim Rolls Out USB/eSATA Combo SSD

Verbatim introduced a new USB/eSATA combo portable SSD. What looks like just another USB stick, which pops its USB connector out with a push of a slider, pops an eSATA connector out from the other side, with the push of the same slider, the other way. Measuring 80 (L) x 23 (W) x 9 (H) mm, and weighing 19 g, the USB/eSATA combo SSD offers 32 GB of storage, with the eSATA interface offering high-performance wherever an eSATA port is available, while the USB 2.0 interface ensures high compatibility. In eSATA mode, the drive offers speeds of 60 MB/s (read) and 25 MB/s (write), which goes down to 26 MB/s (read) and 16 MB/s (write) in USB 2.0 mode. The bundled EasyLock software provides 256-bit AES data encryption. Backed by a 2-year warranty, the Verbatim USB/eSATA Combo SSD sells for 159 EUR.

Verbatim Unveils SureFire Line of Portable Hard Drives

Data storage specialist Verbatim today introduced its SureFire line of portable hard-drives. These palm-sized, portable HDDs come with storage capacities of 250, 320, and 500 GB, and boast of two interfaces: USB 2.0 and FireWire 800, making it out of the box compatible with PCs and Macs. It measures 81 x 128 x 15 mm, and weighs in at 186 g. Enclosed in it, is a 2.5 inch hard drive with 5400 rpm spindle-speed and an 8 MB cache. It draws its power from an AC adaptor, though when used with USB 2.0, it can rely on the port for all its power. The Verbatim SureFire is compatible with Mac OS X Leopard's Time Machine backup application. Backed by a 3-year warranty, these drives go for US $109.99, $139.99, and $179.99 for the 250 GB, 320 GB, and 500 GB models, respectively.

Verbatim Intros Colourful Portable HDDs in Europe

Verbatim EMEA released a colourful new line of portable hard drives. Inside its shell is a 2.5 inch hard drive with an unformatted capacity of 500 GB. The drive has a spindle speed of 5400 rpm. The unit weighs in at a mere 161 g (5.68 oz) and uses the standard USB 2.0 interface for power and data transfer. It comes in shell colours labeled "Sun kissed Yellow", "Eucalyptus Green", "Hot Pink", "Caribbean Blue" and "Volcanic Orange". The bundle includes a copy of Nero BackItUp 4 Essentials. Verbatim will ask €109 for this.

Verbatim Launches New 500GB and 1TB Quad Interface Desktop Hard Drives

Verbatim Develops World’s First Color-background LightScribe DVDRs

Verbatim Corporation, the storage media producer known for offering the widest range of premium-quality LightScribe media, recently announced the world's first Color-background LightScribe 16x DVD-R and DVD+R media. The new 4.7GB LightScribe DVDRs are available in vibrant shades of red, orange, yellow, blue and green in addition to the original gold color. Verbatim has begun shipping them in the US market in 25-packs which include five discs of each color. The richly colored DVDRs are produced using LightScribe Media Version 1.2 coating technology on the label side for enhanced image contrast and faster label printing. Verbatim claims that these new colored LightScribe DVDR discs are label-compatible with all current LightScribe-enabled drives.

Verbatim To Present New Line Of Products

Verbatim plans to unveil a big range of new products in the fields of Optical Media, USB Storage Media & Memory Cards at IFA this September. Amongst those products are the first HD-DVDs in Dual Layer format which have over 30 GB of storage capacity a write speed of 4.5 MB/s and 2.1 version compliant. Next are Verbatim's two new lines of high performance external hard drives offering up to 750 GB of storage capacity. The first is a 3.5" external hard disk line with storage capacities of 500 GB and 750 GB will be available that will have USB 2.0, combined USB 2.0 / Firewire connection and an optional Ethernet connection. The second is a 2.5" line which will come in 120 GB, 160 GB and 250 GB storage capacity and will have USB 2.0 or Firewire connection. Verbatim will also unveil its latest Drive Store And Go Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Drive with 16 GB of storage capacity. Finally Verbatim will present its entire range of the latest Flash memory cards.
