DarkFlash Cooling at 2025 CES: Compound Fan with Segment Displays, and Stackable Fans

A rather recent cooling concept with the growing popularity of liquid cooling and radiators, is compound fans. These are monolithic frames with multiple fanlets. The design eliminates visible cabling among the fans, as well as the number of screws needed to mount one onto a radiator. DarkFlash put the space gained from this design (such as the gaps between the fanlets) to use with segment LED displays that put out useful information such as air temperature, and fan speed. The fan connects to your machine over a single PWM cable, and a single RGB cable. That's not all, it even communicates to a control module with a larger segment display that lets you control its speed, lighting, and monitor parameters. Next up, are the company's Gauss G-series fan sets. These are individual 120 mm fans that feature interlocks, letting you mount up to six of them onto radiators. The interlocking eliminates cable clutter.

A Quick Look at DarkFlash Cases at the 2025 International CES

DarkFlash introduced several new cases across premium market segments at the 2025 International CES. We begin our tour with the new DY450, a spacious full-tower measuring 451 mm x 258 mm x 491 mm (DxWxH), with a 3-sided glasshouse (front, left side, and topside). These are interlocking glass panels, and not a seamless solution, however, the case has a pillarless edge. The motherboard tray serves up generous room for graphics cards up to 42 cm in length, and CPU coolers as tall as 18 cm. You can mount radiators along the side and the partition that separates the upper and lower compartments. The lower half has a front-facing fan controller with physical rotary knobs, and side-facing USB front-panel connectivity. The case comes in black and white trims.

Next up, is the DS900, a premium mid-tower that has a front-thru-left pillarless glasshouse. The case is smaller than the DY450, measuring 434 mm x 218 mm x 454 mm, with its motherboard tray giving you room for graphics cards up to 42.5 cm in length, and CPU coolers up to 17 cm in height. The bottom compartment only has a PSU bay, and the frontal region of it is part of the main compartment, which gives the case room for a side-facing radiator with fans, and bottom-mounted drive bays if needed. The top panel lends itself as another 360 mm radiator mount.
