Introduction

While this may be my first 1MORE product review, the brand has been extensively covered on TechPowerUp with 13 prior reviews to this one since 2017. Indeed, I have experience with the 1MORE brand courtesy their presence at several trade shows I have been to, and they have every time been extremely friendly and helpful to visitors who simply want to know more about audio. This mindset is what makes a brand popular with the customer base in an extremely competitive market, especially when it comes to true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones, but 1MORE also acknowledged that it will take more than just customer support to get sales. It had to distinguish its products further from the norm, which is where the recently launched ColorBuds 2 comes in.


Take the color options, for example. The thumbnail for this review shows the 1MORE ColorBuds 2 TWS earphones in the twilight gold color, which is the third and arguably flashier of the three options as the other two are midnight black and frost white. The design scheme is also clear, showing these are in-ear monitors (IEMs) with a fairly bulbous shell that no doubt has plenty of tech crammed inside. What makes this intriguing to me is the included support for Sonarwork's SoundID, which aims to provide a personalized sound experience. We saw an implementation of SoundID in the Monoprice Monolith M-TWE, which ultimately was a letdown because of the drivers and tuning of that set, which SoundID could barely salvage.
