Software

The software is basic, but has all the important functions. The first page includes button remapping, including media and other key functions. The second page houses CPI adjustment for up to six levels, ranging from 100–5000 CPI and in increments of 100 CPI. The third page contains the lighting settings and is explored below. The fourth page has the basic Windows pointer settings and polling rate adjustment options (125/250/500/100 Hz). Finally, the last page provides macro options. Profile management is on board, too. On my system, the software had a RAM footprint of 20 MB on average.

Lighting

The A530 has three zones for RGB lighting, which are the scroll wheel, logo at the back, and underside RGB strip. Through the software, seven available pre-defined lighting effects are selectable. "Color Ribbon" is a color transition including all lighting zones. "Neon" is a color transition effect, too, but with single-color underside lighting. "Stream" is similar to "Color Ribbon," just faster. "Breathe Colorful" is a breathing effect, but only for the underside lighting zone. "Steady" is yet again a transition effect, but with the underside permanently lit. "Flash" is, you guessed right, a transition effect, but this time the underside isn't lit at all. "Tail" sends waves of color back and forth. Furthermore, it is possible to adjust the direction and speed of transitions on some effects. Of course, it is also possible to disable the lighting altogether.

Color accuracy and vibrancy are excellent throughout. Oddly, however, the lighting flickers upon any kind of input, be it scrolling or merely moving the mouse. Similar behavior could be observed on the Abkoncore A900. Here's a short demonstration video of the "Breathe Colorful," "Stream," and "Tail" lighting effects:
