Software

The A900 comes with its own software. It's quite basic, but works well. On the first tab, every single button can be remapped (including scroll wheel directions) to mouse, media, or macro functions. On the second tab, CPI adjustment is available, ranging from 50-16,000 CPI in increments of 50, and for up to seven steps. Additionally, it is possible to adjust x and y-sensitivity independently. The third tab includes the lighting settings. The fourth tab houses the basic Windows pointer settings as well as polling rate selection (125/250/500/1000 Hz). Lastly, macro and profile management are available too. On my system, the software had a RAM footprint of 19 MB on average. Notably, when exiting the software, the application is actually terminated instead of merely minimized.

Lighting

The A900 has four zones for RGB lighting (side stripes, logo, and front), which cannot be controlled independently. However, when the PC is turned off, the front lighting will stay enabled regardless. Through the software, it is possible to select from among seven available pre-defined lighting effects. These effects mostly affect the side stripes, while the front lights emit a white light no matter what. The available effects are Flash (default, flashing logo and sides), Neon (flashing logo, non-flashing sides), Breathe (flashing logo, sides slowly changing color), Breathe Colorful (same as Breathe, just without color selection), Tail (flashing logo, streams of color along the sides), Steady (flashing logo, permanent color on the sides) and Starts (flashing logo, sides lighting upon clicking). It's possible to set custom colors and adjust brightness and transition speed. Of course, the RGB lighting can be turned off entirely as well.

Color accuracy and vibrancy are excellent throughout. When moving the mouse, however, the back LED starts flickering. Here's a short demonstration video of the "Flash" and "Tail" lighting effects:
