The Abkoncore A900 did well in my testing. As a medium-sized, ambidextrous mouse with side buttons on the left side only, the A900 is suitable for most hand sizes, and for claw grip and fingertip grip alike. Despite being a budget mouse, Abkoncore didn't skimp on the internals: The sensor, PixArt's PMW3389, performs flawlessly. All buttons provide a nice and satisfying click response, and the underlying switches are of fairly high quality. In general, everything is well-built and competently put together, resulting in a premium feel that is usually absent on budget mice. The fairly thick and high quality mouse feet and the rubberized coating further contribute to that impression. Additionally, the basic but bug-free software offers a decent selection of options, and the RGB lighting is done fairly well. Personally, I also appreciate the fact that Abkoncore did everything according to specifications, down to the operating voltage of the switches.
The solid construction comes at the expense of the weight, however, which is rather high for a mouse of this size. The weight system, which allows one to add a single 6 g weight to the mouse, is therefore pointless, as the weight is already high and a difference of 6 g negligible. Additionally, the flexibility of the cable is merely average, and the click latency high.
At the end of the day, though, some of these downsides come down to preference—some people either don't mind or even prefer a higher weight. The cable is less of an issue when used in a mouse bungee. The only thing that remains "objectively bad" is therefore the click latency. Given there is no other mouse currently on the market I know of which brings the same build quality and the same amount of features to the table at the same price point as the A900, I feel that giving it the Budget and Recommended awards is overall justified.
