The Aerocool DS 200 is a bigger brother to the DS cube we already reviewed. It offer great bang for your buck on paper, with a long list of functional features. These include a multi-colored temperature display with an accompanying diode, a four stage, 25W fan controller, and two fans. Aerocool also has not cut any corners with the accessories, offering both a 3.5" drive bay adapter and two top covers instead of selling those separately. All that sounds really good on paper and Aerocool does deliver. If you can hear the "but" coming, well, here it is: While all of the above is great, the exterior, though good, is made of nothing but plastic. A facet not as apparent with the DS Cube as most cubical enclosures employ a lot of the same material, it is different in a mid-tower chassis as there are a lot more ways to employ, say, metal mesh to reduce the overall use of plastics or to mix things up a bit. Please do not mistake the above as a flaw. It is simply something to keep in mind when shopping for a chassis in the 90-100 euro/USD price range as some would prefer less plastic but not as many features of convenience while others would love what the DS 200 has on offer. That said, the Aerocool DS 200 is a great case with a metal frame of great quality, its internal layout simple but functional. Every feature presented within works as advertised, making it, given its justified price point, a very solid choice, especially if you dig one of the six (!) available colors it comes in.
