Akasa integral fusion Review

Value and Conclusion

  • The Akasa integral fusion can be had for around 60 € in Europe. Expect a similar price in America. Considering the built-in USB hub and the card reader, the price is justified.
  • Low CPU utilization
  • Silent fan
  • Adjustable fan speed
  • Two port USB hub
  • Great build quality
  • All cables included
  • Backup function - including synchronization and scheduled backup
  • Card reader included
  • Tiny power supply - no power brick
  • Well packaged
  • Low transfer speeds
  • Software not very intuitive
  • Card reader not very deep
The Akasa integral fusion is very well built and has some interesting features. A two port USB hub gives the user the ability to connect different USB devices to the back of the enclosure, while the card reader on the front is very versatile. This enclosure is very good for users wanting one device to combine the functionality of a card reader and an external enclosure, who are not out for pure performance. That said, the transfer speeds are nothing stellar, in fact they are quite low for an USB 2.0 enclosure. The backup software is quite crude and not very intuitive but gets the job done. Akasa has created a very good, but somewhat slow enclosure which is great for every day use and backup purposes.
