Alphacool is a mainstay in the PC DIY watercooling hobby thanks to it offering something for everyone when it comes to water blocks, pumps, radiators, reservoirs, and a vast plethora of fittings. We've covered the brand extensively over the years, including with a review of the Eisblock XPX in 2019. That particular water block design is over six years old now and still going strong due to Alphacool continually updating and adding to the Eisblock XPX lineup. For example, there's the 1U version suited for servers and small form factor builds, and of course a more lit-up version for RGB enthusiasts.

Today we are examining the Eisblock XPX Pro, a CPU block that is physically larger to accommodate HEDT platforms in addition to more mainstream options. One would argue the two platforms are more mixed up today than ever before, and yet the Pro version also claims better performance owing to a beefier cooling engine. The Eisblock XPX Pro is also part of the company's Aurora line, as seen in the full product name, meaning there are integrated LEDs too. It comes in a variety of different tops to choose from, as well as its own 1U version, however I went with the new full brass top version given the recent announcement. Traditionally, full-metal top water blocks have fared better in my testing and we will examine whether the Eisblock XPX Pro Aurora continues this trend in our review today that begins with a look at the product specifications in the table below. Thanks to Alphacool for providing a sample to TechPowerUp!
