Some 3D Benchmarks - A Performance Preview

For this preview, ASRock provided me with an AMD A75-based motherboard product and a single AMD A10-5800K. Our contacts at AMD told us that we could post a few game benchmarks so that is what I'm going to do here. In a short while I'll have a much larger performance compare, but this will have to suffice for now since AMD has me shackled. I also went and purchased an ASUS Radeon HD 6670 1 GB VGA in order to test these APUs with AMD Dual Graphics enabled and disabled. Both the older AMD FM1 APUs and the AMD FM2 APUs use the same discrete cards for Dual Graphics support, which actually provides a pretty level playing field for comparing the differences between the APUs. I also tested a couple of other systems, three to be exact, in the form of an Intel 3770K paired with an ASUS Maximus V Formula, an AMD FX-4100 paired with an ASUS Crosshair V Formula and the same ASUS HD 6670, and, finally, an Intel i3 3210M paired with an AMD Radeon HD 7850m. I'll be using these systems for further testing in the actual review.

I'm only going to post the numbers and let you come with your own conclusions. I do have to mention that these numbers were generated using an AMD A75-based motherboard, and I was not able to scale the memory above the default 1866 MHz, while AMD advises me that doing so can greatly affect GPU performance. This isn't exactly the proper "Enthusiast" APU build either since AMD A10 APUs really aren't intended to be used with the A75 FCH. Will using an AMD A85X-based board make a difference? Probably not, but I think it's a bit early to draw a firm conclusion until we have the full picture.
