Antec Nineteen Hundred Review

Assembly

Installing the mainboard is done by traditional means, on normal spacers and with the screws Antec included. There is plenty of space all around, so you can install the largest CPU coolers without running into any issues. The same goes for graphics cards as Antec mentions a maximum length of 330 mm for such units, which is plenty for even the biggest cards.

Even though made of plastic, the hard-drive trays are rather thick and sturdy. Each of these comes with red anti-vibration materials, which matches the Nineteen Hundred's other colored elements. To install an SSD, you have to use the default screws Antec provides, while the 3.5" drive requires you to use the longer and larger type of screw. With the drives in place, slide the trays back into the chassis until they snap down.

The contraption at the very top of the HDD trays allows you to simply slide up to two SSDs straight into the chassis. Secure these with a single screw instead.

To install the optical drive, you first have to pop out the cover protecting the drive bay of your choice. Now, simply slide the optical drive past the bay's locking mechanism until it snaps down. This actually holds the drive in p lace rather well, but you should also sink a single screw into the drive to make sure it stays that way.

As this seems to be the best solution, the PSU was installed into the very bottom, and all its cables were routed as best as I could to their appropriate connectors on the motherboard. As has been mentioned before, I really had to get creative when it came time to reach the 8-pin CPU power header, for example, because I had do without any extension cables.

With everything installed, the chassis makes a very clean impression. The holes in the mainboard's tray allowed me to route all cables extremely well. The large opening clears all obstacles and frees the CPU's underside, while the 30 mm behind the motherboard tray easily held all cabled even though I did not invest any time into making sure the backside looks as clean as possible.

Finished Looks

A blue LED below the red (or green) metal mesh ring will light up once the panels are back in place and the system has been turned on. It would have been nice to see a white or appropriately colored LED instead as blue and red really don't mix all too well.

Everything else looks as it should from the front, side, and rear of the Antec Nineteen Hundred. The large opening in its side panel really allows you to look at the entire motherboard and all you have attached to it.
