Arozzi Vernazza Soft Fabric Gaming Chair Review

User Experience

The Vernazza Soft Fabric chair will immediately catch your attention with its soft fabric cover of good quality and wide dimensions. As with any kind of furniture, the fabric requires more cleaning than PU, as long as it is used on a daily basis. Moreover, the Vernazza is meant for large users of up to 145 kg (320 lb), so one would expect its dimensions to be slightly larger than is the norm, mainly due to the contoured edges of the backrest, which restricts users with large shoulders as they lean back. None of my colleagues who tried out this chair—all of whom more or less weigh 80 kg (176.36 lb)—ran into any issues. The backrest's recline of 165 degrees is satisfactory and moves back and forth smoothly. The rocking mechanism is also easy to use, and becomes even easier to use if you weigh more than 70 kg (154.32 lb). With the good quality class 4 gas lift, nothing feels as though it gets in the way as any of these adjustments are made.

The 24 cm (9.44") thick foam on the seat's base is definitely to our liking as it makes for a great, very comfortable sitting experience. Even so, the chair's profile is slim enough to fit in where most gaming chairs would.

The 3D armrests unfortunately do not match the chair's other parts in terms of functionality. Given the price tag, they should be 4D instead as it would give larger users the ability to widen the space between armrests without unscrewing the bolts underneath the seat's base. Additionally, while padded, they could afford to have more volume. What's more, the plastic bits on both sides of the backrest could have been replaced with two black bolts for a more modern aesthetic. If the backrest had a gap along each side for the metal brackets to go through, the entire assembly procedure would have also been easier, as we would have only had to slip the metal brackets through the gaps before screwing in the bolts instead of aligning them with the gaps for the bolts, which takes two people.

The caster wheels are of the usual diameter for gaming chairs and quiet while the chair is moving. They are pretty stable on flat surfaces and roll on demand. Things will be slightly different on a carpet, however, as they will have to deal with more friction than on the laminate floor. User weight also plays a role in terms of movement. Additionally, a set with brakes would have been nice.

The two complementary cushions are large, meant to cover as many body parts as possible. However, if you are of small to medium size, as am I, situating the neck-support cushion properly will prove kind of difficult. Its design is also eccentric—especially tall users will find that it does offer good neck support. The cushioning on both the neck and lumbar-support pillows is satisfactory, but I would have liked the cushioning to be softer and more flexible.
