A Look Inside

Taking the ASRock NUC BOX-1165G7 apart is an easy process that is pretty much the same as on the 4X4 BOX-4800U reviewed previously. Starts with the removal of the four screws on the bottom, which will allows you to lift the bottom plate off and thus install your system memory, M.2 SSD, and SATA HDD/SSD, and so on.

While further disassembly for setup is not required, those wanting to deep clean the system can benefit from the complete teardown. To go any further, users will need to remove two screws that secure the rear I/O, before removing the M.2 SSD bracket (black plastic) so the Intel AX200 WiFi adapter can be removed. This will allow you to remove the system board from the enclosure.

Next, remove the system board from the enclosure. Once removed, you will have access to the system fan and heatsink. The fan itself is secured to the system via three screws and covers up the CMOS battery. Thankfully, since the entire system is easy to work on, replacing the CMOS battery or simple cleaning of the fan is an easy job that requires no special tools.
