Storage Performance
The ASRock Z390 Phantom Gaming 9 has a good compliment of storage options, including three M.2 slots and eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports. Two of those SATA ports are controlled by an ASMedia ASM1061 controller. There is an additional ASMedia ASM1074 hub to add two more internal USB 3.1 Gen1 headers. The ASRock Z390 Taichi performed averagely in my storage tests, with a couple of outliers on both ends. USB Type-C performance was especially bizarre, being quite low.
