ASRock Z490 Taichi Review

Packaging and Contents

The front of the ASRock Z490 Taichi box is split, with the left side hosting a brushed gray background and the right side featuring the trademark Taichi cogs and gears. "Z490 Taichi " is in the bottom left, with brand badging below it along the bottom-left edge. "ASRock" is in the top-left corner. The front of the box opens up to show a window with the board visible beneath and some of the stand-out features covered on the flap.

The back of the box has all the highlights: a top-down shot of the board, several panels detailing prominent features, a diagram outlining the rear I/O, and the specifications list. The box design is well executed and a good fit for the board.

The accessories are mostly standard, with a few nice extras. ASRock has included some nice Velcro cable ties, as well as a Torx driver for the M.2 heatsinks. Notably absent is any kind of rear I/O shield because it is integrated into the board.

The full list of accessories includes:
  • Manual, software setup guide, and support DVD
  • Postcard and sticker sheet
  • 4x SATA 6 Gb/s cables
  • 3x M.2 mounting screws
  • 2x Velcro cable ties
  • T8 Torx driver
  • SLI hard bridge
  • WiFi antenna
