The heatsink is just a slab of metal, no fancy heatpipes or copper here, and it's not needed, either.


Along the top edge of the card, ASUS installed a metal bar to prevent sagging. The card is very light-weight, and I have no idea why they added the bar rather than giving us a backplate.

Graphics Card Power Plugs

As mentioned before, the highlight of this ASUS GTX 950 is the lack of a power connector. All energy is pulled from the PCI-Express slot, up to a limit of 75 watts.


ASUS is using the uPI uP9501P voltage controller. It's the first time I see this model, so I don't know what features it provides.

Graphics Card Memory Chips

The GDDR5 memory chips are made by Samsung and carry the model number K4G41325FC-HC28. They are specified to run at 1750 MHz (7000 MHz GDDR5 effective).

Graphics Chip GPU

NVIDIA's GM206 graphics processor is produced on a 28 nm process at TSMC, Taiwan, with a transistor count of 2.9 billion and a die size of 228 mm².
