Software
The driver software is called ASUS ROG Armoury. It takes up 145 MB of disk space and 42.1 MB of memory while running in the background on my system. You can uninstall the software after setting up everything because the mouse has built-in memory that remembers your settings.
The Buttons tab lets you configure the button mapping. You can find all sensor-related options in the Performance tab, including the button response slider (which I would strongly suggest pulling down to the lowest setting). The Calibration tab is for setting the lift-off distance (LOD), but I would suggest staying on the default value if you have no issues with it. You can of course record many macros of your liking and bind them to any button. The Stats tab lets you record the number of clicks you've made, as well as the amount of distance the cursor has traveled, both on the desktop and in-game. The APM shows up after you stop the recording.
Lighting
When it comes to lighting, ASUS surely knows how to rock. The colors of the Gladius II Origin are bright, vivid, and look quite amazing. There are three individually customizable lighting zones, depending on the lighting effect you choose. There are five steps of brightness, and picking zero in one turns off that specific area. The Sync option lets you synchronize the Gladius II Origin's lighting with your other ASUS ROG products that have Aura Sync enabled.
I made a video in order to demonstrate these effects:
