Shape

While the M4 Air looks like a conventional ambidextrous design at first glance, it does several things slightly differently. For one, the back and front don't flare out much at all, which has the sides hardly curving inward. The butt is barely pronounced and instead tapers off somewhat abruptly. The hump is centered, but only slopes down in a meaningful way towards the front. Coupled with the decently low profile overall, the M4 Air feels smaller in hand than it actually is. While the lack of aggressive curves turn the M4 Air into a widely agreeable shape, it also means that getting a proper grip can be harder than anticipated. Overall, a very non-offensive shape that works reasonably well in practice.

Unlike the M4 Wireless, the M4 Air comes with holes for weight reduction. The holes are triangle-shaped, albeit of the non-equilateral variety. They extend to the back, bottom, and small portions of the sides and main buttons. While the contact areas on the sides don't have holes, they do feature a triangle-shaped pattern. During use, I didn't feel irritated by the holes.

As for grip styles, I'd say the M4 Air is mainly suited for claw and fingertip grip, with palm grip at least being possible. It is a medium-sized mouse with a barely pronounced hump, which should make it suit medium to large hands. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the M4 Air quite comfortable in claw grip.
