Asustor AS-302T Review

Packaging

The NAS comes in a plain cardboard box lacking fancy graphics and an impressive design. The box is sturdy enough to effectively protect this product and features a carrying handle on top to help you move it around.

There is nothing worth describing on the sides, but the rear has a label with specifications and a snapshot of the unit.

Contents & Bundle

Once we opened the top flap of the box, a multilingual message greeted us, asking us to read the Quick Start Guide found on the software disc accompanying the NAS. Protected by foam spacers, the NAS inside the box is also wrapped in plastic, so the provided protection is adequate.

A smaller box stores all accessories. These include two sets of fixing bolts for HDD mounting on the trays, the software CD, an Ethernet cable, leaflet, and the power brick along with its AC cord.

By Delta, one of the best PSU OEMs, the external PSU powering the unit is of very high quality. It can deliver up to 60 W of power, which is more than enough to cover the needs of the AS-302T.

Asustor was kind enough to send us a remote control for the NAS, which will prove most helpful with XBMC. As you can see, its small size makes it very practical.
