RAID Operations
In this scenario, we perform RAID rebuild and sync operations during which we measure the time the NAS takes to complete these tasks, along with the average power consumption for these rebuild and sync periods. In NAS servers with four bays or more, we rebuild and sync RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 6 arrays, while in smaller two-bay NAS servers, we are confined to a RAID 1 array. Bitmap is disabled in NAS servers that support it to produce comparable results since it speeds up RAID rebuild times.
Asustor AS3102T |
---|
Operation | Time | AVG Power Consumption |
---|
RAID 1 Sync | 1:16:00 | 19.51 W |
---|
RAID 1 Rebuild | 1:13:00 | 19.92 W |
---|
The average power consumption during these rebuild- and synching periods was very low, and the NAS finished these procedures fast enough in comparison to other NAS servers we have tested thus far. You can't ask for more here, not from a budget-centric NAS.
