The NAS performed pretty well with multiple clients due to its quad-core Celeron CPU that is easily strong enough to support a home-centric NAS.
Here are some screenshots of the activity monitor during our multi-client tests. CPU and RAM utilization wasn't high. Even 2GB of RAM look to be enough for a NAS server's custom-tailored OS.
During our multi-client tests, which are the most demanding, CPU temperature reached 63°C. The dual-core CPU of the AS3102T operated at 49°C in the same test and under the same testing conditions, but two additional CPU cores obviously lead to higher temperatures.
HDD temperatures reached 40-43°C toward the end of the test. Temperatures will rise with larger capacity HDDs, which will have the fan speed up in order to provide better cooling. During our tests, fan speed was kept very low throughout with fan speed set to auto in ADM. A few ventilation holes in the chassis would lower overall internal temperatures, but there are none.
There is a strange IOPs spike with two connected clients.
