AUDIOCASE makes a good case for bigger, more heavy-duty portable speakers. The battery life of most small yet loud portable speakers is around six hours at full volume, which might be a serious limitation for some usage scenarios.
AUDIOCASE fixes the battery-life issue by having a battery that is capable of powering the device for at least 12 hours at full volume, and full volume is way beyond what portable speakers usually are capable of. Connectivity is limited to Bluetooth 4.2, which generally does not bottleneck the audio performance while using normal-quality files. There is also the option of hooking up a device via a mini-jack cable, which can be handy with some devices with sketchy Bluetooth performance or plain old DAPs.
Audio performance across the board is good, and while it leads the pack in terms of bass performance and general volume, it does have a tendency to perhaps emphasize reverb effects in recordings, giving it a slightly hollow sound. Other than that, you get bass that fills the room and is clearly audible even outside, in a noisy street environment.
Price and handling are perhaps the two largest drawbacks for the AUDIOCASE. It has a large enclosure and weighs 6.4 kg, which only makes it sort of portable. The speaker is great for its specific use, which is outdoor listening. In terms of providing good sound quality at decent volume levels outside, it's pretty much unmatched and easily overpowers two MEGABOOMs, which would leave a similar dent in your finances.
