AVerMedia Live Streamer Mic 350 Review - Great Hardware, Powerful Software

Microphone Performance »

Along with the AVerMedia Live Streamer Mic 350, AVerMedia sent me several accessories to make the absolute most out of it. When kitted with all of them, the microphone looks professional and performs the best. They're not exactly cheap, though, and you definitely don't need all of them to have a good time with the Live Streamer Mic 350. As I've mentioned in the introduction, the Live Streamer Pop Filter and Live Streamer Shock Mount are bundled with the microphone at no extra cost as a part of the launch promotion. After the promotion ends (the exact date is unknown), you'll have to buy them at their full listed price.

AVerMedia Live Streamer Arm

The AVerMedia Live Streamer Arm has been making waves ever since it launched back in 2022. After finally trying it out, I can understand why. Its aluminium body feels incredibly sturdy and luxurious, it offers excellent range of motion, and boasts a clever integrated cable routing system, effectively getting rid of the usual cable clutter, especially when you work with thinner cables, such as the USB-C cable used for the AVerMedia Live Streamer Mic 350. XLR cables thicker than 6 mm unfortunately won't fit into the routing channels.

The AVerMedia Live Streamer Arm supports microphones weighing up to 1.8 kilograms (3.9 lbs) and even comes with an additional 1/4" mount for cameras, webcams, and other smaller devices. The table clamp takes up quite a bit of space, and the $150 asking price is a bit on the steep side, but this is a terrific microphone boom arm regardless. If you're only going to buy a single accessory for the AVerMedia Live Streamer Mic 350, this is the one to get. I highly recommend getting it even if you opted for a different microphone altogether. It's truly a great microphone arm.

AVerMedia Live Streamer Pop Filter

Although the AVerMedia Live Streamer Mic 350 has an internal pop filter, the BA310 Pop Filter can be a useful accessory regardless. It has a diameter of 9 cm and a shaft length of 12.4 cm, making it suitable both for AVerMedia's top-address and side-address microphones. With some DIY modding, it can be used on other microphones too, but this really is an AVerMedia-specific pop filter and should ideally be used as such.

Do you need it for the AVerMedia Live Streamer Mic 350? Not necessarily. With a carefully adjusted capsule gain, I didn't have any issues with plosives in cardioid mode without the pop filter. This is an accessory I'd consider buying after trying out the microphone without it first. If you realize you don't need it, that's $30 saved.

AVerMedia Live Streamer Shock Mount

The Live Streamer Shock Mount is to be used in conjunction with the Live Streamer Arm. Its purpose is to isolate the microphone from any kind of noise caused by vibrations that can travel through the microphone arm or body, i.e. when touching the table or accidentally hitting the boom arm.

This $40 accessory is nice to have but again somewhat situational. There's a chance you won't have any trouble with vibrations and accompanying noise in your particular use scenario. If you do, you know what to do to get rid of it.
