A Closer Look

The Ballistix Elite 3600 MHz has a simple outline, but a complex structure. The skeletal structure of the heat spreader lends the Ballistix Elite 3600 MHz a very unique look while maintaining a practically shaped profile.

This kit features a no nonsense black and white color scheme. The sticks maintain an overall rectangular shape with a crenulated aluminium top to improve heat dissipation. The main body of the heat spreader is made up of two pieces that are stamped together.

The Ballistix Elite 3600 MHz has an XMP certification of 3600 MHz with 16-18-18-38 timings, promising high performance potential, especially in a quad-channel configuration. Micron also includes an "Assembled in Mexico" sticker, as with their other kits.

"Ballistix by Micron" is featured on the right of each center-stamped side, with "Elite" and its logo on the left.

The heat spreader has a unique design, with the top screwed on, while the main section is held on by adhesive.

As expected, these sticks are single-sided.

There is only one visible PCB marking on the Ballistix Elite 3600 MHz, and it is too obscure to provide any relevant information.

I like to weigh a stick from each kit I get as the difference in mass can be pretty drastic between kits. Mass is not the best indicator of cooling efficiency because material can matter, and of course, heat dissipation is reliant on surface area, not volume or mass. That said, it is still interesting to compare.

Each Ballistix Elite 3600 MHz stick comes in at just under 72 grams. These aren't the heaviest sticks I have tested, but they are up there, and with four of them, the kit as a whole is quite heavy. For height, the Ballistix Elite 3600 MHz measures 40.55 mm on the shorter side. This kit should offer above average cooler clearance.
