Biostar Racing Z370GT6 Review

Board Software

The included driver disc is helpfully split into categories, with drivers and board software separated. The options presented offer no real surprises, but the choices for automatic installation on the software tab were a bit odd. The eHot-Line utility is certainly useful, providing a direct line of communication to Biostar's support as well as pertinent system information to expedite troubleshooting. The BIOSCreen utility allows users to change the graphic displayed when the board posts, which I found to be a strange choice for automatic installation.

The other app of note is the Racing GT EVO utility, which offers access to just about every overclocking-, LED-, or fan-control option right in the OS. The utility is easy to navigate, and important information and settings are easy to find. Overclocking using this utility yielded slightly better results, with CPU power consumption actually jumping to expected levels when load is applied. Unfortunately, the power draw and, subsequently, clock multiplier quickly dropped back down to stock levels. Benchmark results using this method were completely in line with those achieved at stock speeds.
