If you really love the look of the BitFenix Shadow chassis, with its dual-colored LED bar and the ability to turn it off completely, then stop reading immediately and order it, looking past everything else. Here is the thing: The market for €65 cases is huge, and there are a ton of options out there, which makes it hard to recommend the Shadow for anything else but its LED looks. There are, in other words, loads of options that are built better, feature better tool-less mechanisms, proper water-cooling support, and better cable management, but none of those have the LED strip in the front. It may be a harsh-sounding statement, but it is the truth: Its only unique aspect is the front as the rest is a pure OEM case. To put it into perspective, the Thermaltake Commander MS-1 uses the exact same frame and costs nearly half as much. Sure, it does not come with the extras the Shadow has to offer, but it goes to show that the frame is meant for a completely different market than that of the Shadow. BitFenix should have taken an OEM version of the Shinobi frame without the need for a top cover as a cost-cutting measure before slapping the Shadow front on it. The result would have been similar to what we have here now, but with a more spacious interior, cable management options, and much better construction quality.
