The review sample as tested sells for $89.99 and I understand why Epomaker sent this out for review. After all, there is a big gap in pricing between this and the KDA profile versions that cost $149.99 or $152.99. Sure, they come also with different switches but I would have to be very impressed by those keycaps to offer them the same positive feedback that I am giving to the less expensive Cherry profile version. You still get the same keyboard here at $90, with a feature set that is extremely hard to beat for other Chinese brands, let alone mainstream brands which would charge you significantly more for a similar user experience. There's also something to be said about having a well built plastic cased keyboard too, even if the glossy finish runs the risk of making it seem like a toy from photos online.
There are some issues with the CIDOO ABM084, but these are primarily in the realm of potential improvements, which are not dealbreakers by any means. If anything, there are far more switch options with the Cherry profile version and the hot-swappable sockets also help relieve further pain for those who simply had to use the TTC switches found on the more expensive versions. You can also easily swap over to backlit-compatible keycaps as needed, but this incurs an extra cost both monetarily but also in terms of reduced battery life with the LEDs on. I'd much rather leave the keyboard lights off and enjoy typing on this nice sounding keyboard. The Gateron Pro switches are also an excellent pairing in terms of value for money. All this is even before the wireless connectivity options and software/hardware customization come in to the picture! It goes without saying then that the CIDOO ABM084 Cherry profile version gets a strong recommendation for the money.
