CM Storm Sentinel Advance II Laser Gaming Mouse Review

Driver

The Sentinel Advance II has a fully adjustable lighting system which is easy to customize to your liking, also the button response time can be tweaked in the driver suite, however, all of the surface calibration features we saw on SteelSeries and Mionix mice based on the Avago ADNS-9500 sensor are gone. The driver suite changes Windows settings when launch and if it is not set to auto-load you will have to start it in order to get the correct sensitivity.

The driver suite for the CM Storm Sentinel Advance II is really big and emphasizes the macro and profile capabilities of the mouse. Profiles and macros are stored on the mouse's internal memory which makes it easy to use on multiple systems without having to send profiles back and forth. For anyone interested in absurdly complicated macros the CM Storm driver suite will be a real treat. Also the button assignment system works well. The OLED logo can also be changed from the driver suite if you want a custom logo displayed on top of your mouse.

When it comes to usability the CM Storm driver suite is not the fastest, most useable, or prettiest, however, it does cover most of the basics well and its macro control capability is very good.
