Packaging and Accessories

Cooler Master operates a web shop in the USA. However, this sample came from a marketing hub, so we begin with a look at the product packaging. A white and purple color scheme has been adopted for the box, which is in line with what we saw for other recent Cooler Master products. On the front is the company logo and product name along with a render of the keypad and description of some of its salient features, including the employed switch type and color of the frame. We see more renders, specifications, and features, even in multiple languages, on the back and sides. The box itself is smaller than average because of the to keyboards comparatively tiny keypad inside. There are seals and double flaps on the sides to keep the contents in place. Opening the box, we see paperwork right away, which is probably the best way to go about specialized hardware such as this.

The documentation comes in the form of a multi-language quick start guide that goes over how to manually calibrate the Aimpad analog control technology, as well as a note telling you to download the software drivers for maximum utilization. Underneath is the keypad itself, inside a molded plastic shell and thick foam pieces at the bottom for further protection during transit. The rest of the accessories are in a compartment below.

There are three pieces of accessories here, including a detachable USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable, which hints towards the continuing adaption of Type-C connectivity on all recent Cooler Master keyboards. The cable is braided, black sans the purple accent on the male USB Type-A connector, and both connectors are gold-plated for oxidation resistance. There is also a nice metal wire keycap puller to remove keycaps without scratching their sides, as can happen with a more common, cheaper plastic ring puller.

The included wrist rest comes in more plastic and is custom built to fit the ControlPad well. There is a thick PU leather top that is plush but supportive enough, with a brushed aluminium frame around it to match the ControlPad. The top has a subtle Cooler Master logo in the middle, and there are four rubber pads on the back to prevent slippage when up against a desk or similar surface.
