Installation
You will have to put the backplate on the motherboard to install the Cooler Master Hyper 212X. Put the screw pillars in while holding the backplate in place and use the included nuts to secure them and the backplate to the motherboard.
After applying some thermal paste, get the mounting arms into place on the heatsink and put it on top of the CPU. Now, tighten it down to secure it in place. The last steps is to attach the fan to the heatsink, before plugging it into the CPU fan header on the motherboard.
Cooler Master's mounting hardware is not the greatest, but it scores points for being universal, and other than the backplate, it's still easy enough for a novice to use. I would rate it an 8 on a scale of 1 (hardest) to 10 (easiest).
