Shape
The shape of the MM311 resembles that of the Razer Lancehead. Much like on the latter, the hump is positioned slightly towards the back and tapered, which, along with large flares at the rear creates plenty of palm support. The sides don't actually curve in as much, and most of the curvature comes from the rear flares. The front is wider than the middle, but doesn't flare out as much as the rear does. The main buttons feature subtle comfort grooves. Overall, a nicely balanced and surprisingly comfortable design. A somewhat curious design choice are the rather sharp edges around the base, however.
As for grip styles, I'd say the MM311 is mostly suited for palm and claw grip. It is a medium-sized mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, which makes it suit medium to larger hands. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the MM311 very comfortable in claw grip.
