Performance

The Xport 251 manages a very impressive 35.7 MB/s, with peaks of well above 37 MB/s. This is certainly fast and USB 2.0 has had a long run, thus the latest enclosures are much better than anything we have seen a few years ago.


With the results obtained by HDTach above, we can see that the Xport 251 is the third fastest enclosure we had ever reviewed, while the CPU utilization is at a nice and low 2%. The latter number is only a reference, as a low-end or really old computer will require more processing power to handle an external enclosure.


ATTO Diskbench confirms the HD Tach results and also reveals expectable write speeds as well.
