This cooler leaves me with mixed feelings. The cooler construction is of great quality. It is extremely light-weight and compact. It also operates at a low noise level. The overclocked and overvolted temperatures were lower than the all stock temperatures if only by a few degrees. Overclockers looking to push there systems further by lowering their temperature may find reason to purchase this if they are not using a large CPU cooler that is.
That being said a few improvements could be made to the finish of the base. People looking for silent systems may side-step the Chipchilla especially considering that the passive stock cooler is adequate at cooling the chipset with absolute silence at only a few degrees warmer. The mounting issues such as the inability to mount it vertically with a large CPU cooler may turn some people away from this product. It would be a good idea to check your measurements in the event that you may have large components that could interfere with installation. This is really the factor that holds the Chipchilla back.
Overall the Chipchilla is a decent cooling upgrade for those who are looking to push their system further by reducing temperatures and do not mind just a subtle increase in system noise versus a passive cooling solution. Just make sure it will fit in your system.
