A Closer Look - Inside

The interior can only be accessed through a side panel, but the interior layout is simple enough not to cause any issues. You have to detach several black screws to remove the panel. The screws will wear out if you open the RM1 up too many times, so make sure not to tighten them down too much if you plan to do so often.

In the front, you will find the 120 mm cooling unit, on a silver mount for some space between the fan and solid front cover. Above that is the external 5.25'' drive bay. You may place two 2.5" drives there instead of an ODD.

The motherboard expansion slots and the PSU bay are in rear. Look closely and you will also see a small black PCB on which the fan switch rests. The six expansion slots for the motherboard each have a reusable cover.

On the floor of the RM1 are two sets of holes for two additional hard drives. One is for a 2.5" and the other for a 3.5" drive.

All the cables within the chassis are sleeved black and of the default variety. Naturally, every plug is clearly labeled, so you should not run into any issues while connecting these to the motherboard.
