Assembly
Installing the motherboard inside the chassis is done by traditional means, using spacers and screws. Space along the bottom edge is pretty tight, but thanks to some well-placed holes, you are able to keep the cable clutter well hidden.
Adding an SSD is easily done by detaching one of the metal trays, filling it, and simply putting it back in its place with the connected thumbscrew.
3.5" drives, on the other hand, do not require any tools at all as you simply snap them into place and slide the plastic tray back until it clicks down securely.
The power supply requires the use of screws to hold down, but there is plenty of space, so you should not run into any issues with even longer, more powerful units.
Once everything is assembled, the interior of the iCUE 465X RGB looks very clean even though not a lot of time and effort was put into the whole process. This is due to extremely well-placed openings and grommets on the motherboard tray.
Finished Looks
Once turned on, the generally basic design of the iCUE 465X RGB becomes a mere visual support factor for the three fans in the front of the enclosure. Thanks to the RGB-equipped cooling units, the case suddenly provides a great balance between understated, clean looks and plenty of pop for gamers and enthusiasts alike. The power button also lights up in white to let you know that the system is up and running.
Taking a straight look at the front, the gentle tint of the glass makes the three fans pop even more, with the x-shaped dust filter really adding an important design element to the overall feel of the chassis. On the side, the large glass panel allows you to view all your hardware easily, and thanks to these clean looks, you won't have to worry about having to hide anything. Lastly, the rear is pretty straightforward as the internal layout of the iCUE 465X RGB is essentially traditional.
Thanks to the Lightning Node CORE, you are able to adjust the colors and modes of the fans in the software, straight in Windows. This is a great touch and would come in especially handy if you have multiple products of the Corsair ecosystem, as you could sync up everything within that one iCUE application.
