We'd be remiss if we didn't spend some time looking at the Corsair iCUE software. The screen you see above is the primary landing page when the software starts. So, this was one of the places I was a bit unimpressed; memory like this 4000 MHz kit does not come cheaply. As such, having ads in its software is inexcusable. After all, what are you paying all that money for in the first place when buying an RGB memory kit? Surely software is part of that... Anyway, you can see the image for the Vengeance RGB PRO modules under the devices listing. Clicking the pictures takes you to the main page for the product you have selected; available options may differ from device to device. I really like how once you are on this page, there is a huge image of the memory so you know you've got the right thing selected.
The software options are intelligent, including having options to adjust where your DIMMs are located on your motherboard. This is really important for boards with DIMM slots on either side of the socket, or just one side, and the software is ready and waiting to be adjusted to match your configuration so that it can provide the best-possible results. There are a decent number of pre-defined patterns you can choose from here, or you can make your own, and you can have each DIMM with its own pattern or a shared one between them all. The choice is really all up to you.
The software even provides a bit of identification for each DIMM. The Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO modules do offer temperature monitoring, and you can view this via the iCUE software in an adjustable graph.
You can even set some notifications based on these temperatures should you so choose. Of course, this is something that ties more into Corsair's cooling products, and if you think like I do, you can already see the ingenuity of offering support for such things here and how that is very useful for those of us going full Corsair fanboy to have every item under the sun in our case supported by iCUE. I know I am very eager to get my own complete set-up just so I can play with all these options and capabilities!! You guys at Corsair reading this, please send me all your stuffs! :P
There are certain products from Corsair that over the years have really deserved the attention because they are just that good. Many of these, such as the old XMS PRO modules and Corsair's original DDR3 Dominator Platinum modules, were such devices, and you can see that I've kept the last Dominator Platinum kit Corsair sent me many years ago. There is a definite obvious comparison to be made here between these different products. And yes, I do have the functional LED display fan cover that connects to those Dominator Platinum modules too! What a mess of wires that whole thing makes... it is great to see so much more function without all those wires! Of course, the thing that really adds in all that awesome functionality is this Corsair iCUE software.
