Introduction
Back in 2019, Corsair launched the Virtuoso, its flagship line of gaming headsets. The lineup debuted with the beloved Virtuoso RGB Wireless (
reviewed here) and the Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE (
reviewed here). These were followed by the
Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT two years later, and finally, in 2023, the open-back, analog Virtuoso Pro (
reviewed here), aimed toward streamers and hardcore gamers. All these headsets are still being manufactured and sold, which is a testament to their quality and popularity among users with deeper pockets.
The newest addition to the Virtuoso lineup was launched in the closing quarter of last year. The Virtuoso MAX Wireless, as its name implies, strives to improve upon its predecessors in every possible way, aiming to claim the title of the best gaming headset on the market. On paper, things look promising. The Virtuoso MAX Wireless is equipped with a pair of 50-millimeter graphene speaker drivers and offers Dolby Atmos spatial audio processing, Sonarworks SoundID sound personalization, active noise cancellation technology, "transparency" mode, simultaneous dual wireless connectivity (zero-lag 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth), and a 60-hour battery life – exactly three times as much compared to the original Virtuoso RGB Wireless and Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE.
The Virtuoso MAX Wireless officially supports PC/Mac, Sony PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile platforms. For Xbox gamers, there's a
dedicated Xbox variant of the headset. Regardless of your choice, the Corsair's latest and greatest will set you back a hefty $330. Needless to say, I'm approaching this review with high expectations.
