Let's not beat around the bush - the Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless is a fantastic wireless headset. Everything that was good about its predecessor, such as its excellent comfort and practical, built-in controls, is still present here. Everything that needed tweaking was improved. And best of all, the price remained the same. The Void Pro RGB Wireless doesn't cost a dime more than the Void RGB Wireless.

The tuning of the built-in 50-millimeter audio drivers is great. Corsair found an amazing balance between excitement and precision and managed to get a fun-sounding gaming headset that is also informative enough to make the detection of in-game targets a breeze. I equally enjoyed using it for music, where it surprised me with its ability to successfully handle a very wide selection of genres. A vast majority of its users won't feel the need to get a different pair of headphones for their music-listening sessions simply because the Void Pro RGB Wireless is so impressively versatile.

Comfort-wise, the Void Pro RGB Wireless matches the SteelSeries Arctis 7. In other words, it's as comfortable as it gets. The ear cushions are big, soft and made out of breathable mesh fabric. The same goes for the inner side of the headband. Add to that a low clamping force and what you get is a headset that makes you forget that you're wearing it.

The microphone is by no means spectacular, but it gets the job done. The only tasks you can't really use it for are serious Twitch streaming and YouTube voiceovers. For anything else, it's more than good enough. That it can be muted via a button on the left ear cup or by simply pivoting it upward is great.

Where the Void Pro RGB Wireless falls a bit short is its battery life with the RGB lighting system activated. If you use it like that, it will last for less than 10 hours between two charges. Luckily, that issue can be resolved by turning the RGB LEDs off, which almost doubles its battery life. The software could also do with a bit of work when it comes to its user interface and overall user experience. However, its possibilities are plentiful, so it's worth getting used to. Don't let that hold you back from getting the Void Pro RGB Wireless - it really is a great gaming headset.

Should you buy it rather than the $150 SteelSeries Arctis 7? If putting together another $50 isn't something you can or want to do, absolutely. On the other hand, it's worth keeping in mind that the Arctis 7 fares much better in terms of battery life, connectivity, and extra features (ChatMix Dial, line-in and line-out ports on the Wi-Fi dongle, foldable microphone); it can be used on the go and offers even more in terms of build quality and general aesthetics, so do get a lot in return for spending another $50. The SteelSeries Arctis 7 still strikes me as the ultimate wireless headset, but if my budget were $100, I'd get the Corsair Void Pro RGB Wireless without the slightest hesitation.
