The CRYORIG A40 is, like the others, a high contrast black and white AIO. However, with its color theme being neutral, it wont stand out in that regard. The small fan on the pump, however, is a different story. It will grab your attention. Good or bad, it is certainly unique as no one else but CRYORIG offers that extra bit of cooling for other components. In fact, based on its mounting orientation, users can cool the motherboard VRM, system RAM, or back of the GPU; which part is cooled depends on how you install the unit or what case you use.
When it comes to its overall appearance, I would say it is generally clean, but the airflow fan will result in a love-it or hate-it reaction. Removing it doesn't improve appearances much either due to the design that makes it possible. As such, it becomes a love-it or hate-it feature. I myself am not a fan of this design; however, in CRYORIG's defense, they at least tried something different. There is only so much room for customization with an Asetek design, and they certainly managed to step away from the crowd and make people take notice.
As with most AIO liquid coolers, clearance is exceptional. There are no obstructions around the socket to speak of, and as expected, the block and tubing won't get in the way of a graphics card in a mini-ITX system. Users can install whatever memory or graphics card they want without worry.
