Installation

Installing the AS500 Plus on our AMD test bench requires removing the plastic brackets on the motherboard and then securing the AMD motherboard backplate with the included screw pillars. Once the backplate is secure, it's time to slide the mounting arms or brackets into place, before securing them with the four nuts.

Now, apply thermal paste to the CPU and secure the heatsink to the mounting brackets. With the heatsink secure, you can reinstall the fans.

It is now time to route the ARGB lighting and fan wires. Thankfully, DeepCool includes an extension cable, so there should be no issues when plugging everything in, no matter where the headers are on your motherboard.

Overall, the mounting hardware DeepCool uses for the AS500 Plus is quite good and, more importantly, very simple by design. The number of miscellaneous parts is kept to a minimum. As such, you won't need a third or fourth hand to install the cooler, making it a great option for those looking for a painless installation.
