Introduction

DUNU Logo

DUNU is one of those rare audio brands that has been around for longer than some people reading this review have been alive. This is all the more impressive when you consider it is an Asian brand that primarily focuses on in-ear monitors which can be used to describe what seems to be about a million such new entities which have popped up recently. DUNU has still managed to impress more often than not though with proper R&D, patented driver technologies, and generally making sure you never feel you have overpaid for a DUNU set since you get quite a lot each time both in terms of the unboxing experience as well as sound quality itself. Then there's the part where DUNU IEMs have a reputation for excellent design and build in addition to being a standard bearer for quality control and customer support to where it's not surprising that it would be right at the top of the brands list for anyone wanting to collaborate on a product with.

Enter Headphones.com then to do just that. This is a retailer based out of North America which is known for its customer-friendly 365-day return policy and manages to even support an independent cohort of reviewers who put out some of the best work out there if you want to know more about audio products as well as better understanding the world of audio science. One of these reviewers goes by the online moniker Precogvision and he has become notorious for his no punches pulled approach when it comes to IEM coverage. As with anyone else, he has his own likes and dislikes and yet the consistency and high expectations he has results in a short list of recommendations that are generally beloved by many. All this is to say that even if you are unaware of DUNU, Headphones.com, or Precogvision, a collaboration set of IEMs developed over 2+ years of rigorous work is something to know more about if you are remotely interested in IEMs. Thanks to Headphones.com for providing a review sample to TechPowerUp as we begin our coverage of the DUNU x Precogvision Mirai with a look at the product specifications in the table below.
