The software included with the ECS Golden Board Z77H2-AX is pretty basic starting with the two updating tools you see above, one for BIOS, and the other for drivers. This makes keeping system drivers up to date really easy, and the BIOS too, although there needs to be some updates in order for them to useful.
There are two tweaking tools as well, eOC for system tweaking, and eSF for fan control.
For real clocking, as the BIOS doesn't cooperate, hidden on the disk is Intel's own XTU. For a long time ECS has provided products that are merely a customization of the default reference design, and the ECS Golden Board Z77H2-AX is no different, offering full compatibility with Intel's XTU, which does provide the main source of clocking ability for the Golden Board Z77H2-AX. Personally, I love XTU, and have been using it since the SandyBridge launch, as it provides a very easy to uinderstand interface for BIOS customization. You merely change settings, reboot, and they will be applied on the next boot, whether it's a CPU option, or memory. There's also the ability to enable XMP profiles from within this tool, making it a one-stop-shop for overclocking on the Golden Board Z77H2-AX. In today's Windows OS environment, clocking and BIOS updating is not something to be concerned about, and if you do run into issues doing so, it's due to poor tool programming...something I did not find true with the ECS Golden Board Z77H2-AX, which did everything I asked of it, without ever failing me.
