SIPSurge: MOV
Inrush: NTC Thermistor

OCP at +12V is properly set given there are two outputs (virtual rails). This is not the case at 5V and 5VSB, though, since the triggering points for OCP are way higher than the 130% we consider to be ideal.

OPP is good at 130%, and over temperature protection engages once the secondary side's operating temperature reaches 180°C. Unfortunately, there is no bypass relay support for the NTC thermistor, which is not uncommon in low-efficiency platforms.

DC Power Sequencing

According to Intel's most recent Power Supply Design Guide (revision 1.4), the +12V and 5V rails must have voltages equal to or greater than the 3.3V rail's output during power-up and regular operation. For our first measurement, we turn the unit off and switch it back on without any load on any of the rails.

No problems here since the 3.3V rail is always lower than the other two.

EMC Pre-Compliance Testing - Average and Peak EMI Detector Results

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) is the ability of a device to operate properly in its environment without disrupting the proper operation of other close-by devices.

Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) stands for the electromagnetic energy a device emits, and it can cause problems in other close-by devices if too high.

Conducted EMI emissions are kept low.
