EVGA Bronze 600 W Review

A Look Inside & Component Analysis »

Packaging

The 600B comes in small box with the model number taking over most of the front. The 80 Plus Bronze badge located near the front, bottom-left corner is rather small.

We only find EVGA's logo on one side, while the other has EVGA's usual list depicting the company's achievements.

The most interesting part on this side is a sticker showing the PSU's part and serial numbers. The country in which this product was made is also on this sticker. It is made in China, like most consumer products available on store shelves today.

EVGA provided a list of features, a description of all available connectors, which, however, doesn't include cable length, and some photos of the PSU on the back. The same side also has the power specifications table and a paragraph that details why the 600B unit should be your next PSU. However, EVGA made a typo here, writing "500W of continuous power" instead of "600W".

Contents

The PSU is only protected by some bubble wrap inside the box. We would like the unit to be protected better, but EVGA's opinion on this matter seems to differ.

The bundle includes the user's manual, an AC power cord, and a set of fixing bolts. Unfortunately, no Velcro straps or even zip ties were included.

Exterior

The fan grill looks cool and the finish is glossy but nice. We find the typical honeycomb-style exhaust grill and a small on/off switch right next to the AC receptacle at the front, and the decals on both sides detail the PSU's power specifications. The cables at the rear are sleeved back into the case, with a plastic grommet to protect them.

The PSU is pretty small due to its limited length and its non-modular cabling design, which probably won't appeal to most users.

The cables are fully sleeved, but use normal wires instead of stealth ones since this PSU mostly targets mainstream systems, not high-end ones.

Sleeving isn't of high quality, but we can't be very picky on such matters in this price category.
